Scorpion

Scorpion was born Hanzo Hasashi, one of the deadliest assassins of the Shirai Ryu ninja clan.  He was killed by Sub-Zero, an assasin from the Lin Kuei clan, and consequently his family and clan were slaughtered by the necromancer Quan Chi.  Scorpion was resurrected by Quan Chi and given false information leading him to believe that Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei were responsible for the deaths of his family and clan.  He entered the Mortal Kombat tournament to avenge the murder of his family.  Approached by Raiden and warned not to kill Sub-Zero Scorpion was weary when he gained the upper hand against his foe, but more of Quan Chi's deception resulted in Sub-Zero's termination.  Scorpion still serves as Quan Chi's lapdog, bending to the will of his family's murderer.
